The Recessionistas order apetizers instead of entrees because they still have busy social schedules, know that they aren't made to be couch potatoes, they buy classic pieces off EBay, instead of cheap polyester from from Forever 21. The Recessionistas comb the Fashion Rags, stay abreast of the current trends and then go out and find them...for less than retail.

What's the difference between being cheap and being a Recessionista? The Recessionistas know that wardrobes should be an investment, they don't bother with cheap clothes, that are poor quality because they know that it will cost more in the end. Instead they are purchasing $200 J Brand Jeans at Bloomies on Sale for $89, staying fashionable, trendy but always smart.
